First we had to do some cleaning though...

Blueberry picking was awesome. I wasn't sure if Adia would last and we didn't know how C would do. He's never been blueberry picking either, but both kids did wonderfully. Adia filled her bucket to the top (2 pints worth!) and C filled his a few times. The twins also enjoyed it. Mira rode on Papa's shoulders and probably ate her body weight in blueberries. Papa would point at a good berry, she'd pick it and eat it. After the first few times, she figured out how to do it all by herself and would let Papa know when she wanted to get close enough to a bush to pick more. She's actually chew one and say, "more!" while pointing.

Leia wasn't so sure about the whole picking process. She would get blueberries in her hands, but wasn't interested in eating them. She mostly just held them, or squished them. She quit on us long before we were finished.

We ended up with 18 pints of blueberries! I think we'll be eating blueberries for weeks. I made a blueberry cobbler at Gramma and Papa's and we've eaten a bunch straight. I've frozen some too and given some to DiDi. I still have a ton though, but they taste so good. They're so much better than the ones you buy in the store.
After the blueberry picking, we were off to the beach. Leia did a really good job at NOT eating sand. I think she ate 1 handful and realized she didn't really like it. She's definitely making progress. Mira liked walking barefoot in the sand, but kept getting very very mad when she'd trip and fall.

Adia followed C into the water. It cracks me up since she always complains that the water in C's kiddie pool and sprinker is too cold, but the ocean water was just fine. It was actually a really nice day at the beach though. The wind was minimal (To Daddy's dismay. He ran up and down the beach trying to get Adia's kite in the air) and it was warm. The kids started throwing rocks in the water. The ones that they couldn't lift, they had the dads pick up and throw instead. That led to finding several little tiny crabs.

It was soon time to leave. Adia was not happy to say goodbye to C. They're becoming such good friends. It's great to see. We headed over to Cindy's house to have a BBQ and play in the pool. Adia was all eyes for the pool, but when it came time to actually swim, she thought it was too cold. She eventually got in with Gramma though. Mira loved all the food and especially enjoyed Papa sharing his corn with her. She loves corn on the cob.

The girls were more than tired when it was time to leave. They took good naps and then we headed back home.
Adia and I got to spend some time together on Monday. We went to ToysRUs and then DiDi, the twins, Adia and I went out for a late lunch followed by mini blizzards at DQ. Adia loved hers and it was the perfect size.

Tomorrow Gramma's coming to visit. Adia wants me to take her outside to ride her scooter. I hope we get a chance since the weather's gotten much cooler.
