We went to DiDi's house for the weekend since Scott was working 12 hour shifts anyway. Adia was very happy to see DiDi. I think she wondered what happened to her after seeing her every day for 13 days. Not long after we arrived, Tanae and Lexi did too. Adia was so excited to see them. It's mass chaos with a 1 year old, 16 month old and a 2 year old though. Adia has started to play closer with Lexi because Tanae likes to steal all the toys, but Lexi plays. It also helps that Adia and Lexi are very close to the same size.
Dinnertime was interesting. Tanae in one booster, Adia in another and Lexi in the high chair. Adia and Lexi pretty much eat anything that's put in front of them, Tanae has reached the age where she hardly eats anything. They were all in desperate need of a bath when they were finished. Adia seemed excited to be in the tub with them until Tanae started dumping water and washcloths on baby heads. Adia does not like water on her face anymore. She didn't end up lasting long and Lexi soon followed. I left DiDi with Tanae because she did not want to get out of the tub (she never does!). I did manage to wash Lexi and Tanae's hair though.

We then had the tough task of getting 3 kids to bed at the same time. They played a little bit after their bath, but around 10, Lexi started laying her head of the floor and screaming. That's a dead giveaway that she's tired. We headed for DiDi's room and found that Tanae had already decided to put her babies to bed and her too. Adia sat next to her, but Tanae soon kicked her out, so Adia went to join DiDi with her doll. Adia's become obsessed with baby dolls too and almost always has one with her.
Somehow we got them all to sleep. Adia quickly fell asleep on me and slept through the July 3rd fireworks. DiDi wasn't so lucky with Tanae who got freaked out by the noise. Adia woke up bright and early at 6:30 though. The first thing she did was run in and wake up Lexi. We all headed to the living room in hopes of not waking Tanae (she is not a morning person), but we soon heard Tanae crying. She wandered into the living room and into DiDi's lap. Adia was already begging for breakfast so it was another crazy mealtime. I made lots of scrambled eggs, but Tanae and Lexi didn't want them. Adia and DiDi certainly did. We actually couldn't figure out what Tanae wanted to eat.
After breakfast, we decided we'd go to the park. DiDi just bought a wagon that Adia is obsessed with too. Every time we go in the garage, she runs to the wagon and tries to get in. This time, she actually could. There's only 2 real seats though so we didn't quite know what to do with Lexi. She started off in the middle, then tried Tanae's lap and ended up in Adia's lap. Adia was happy with that arrangement.

We arrived at the park and Tanae and Adia took off. Poor Lexi can walk now, but hasn't quite mastered the play area. DiDi held on to her while Tanae and Adia went wild. Tanae climbed all over and kept going down the slide, but Adia just watched. She hadn't mastered the art of sliding and actually enjoys watching Tanae. Tanae soon tried to make a run for it so it was time to leave.
Not long after going back to DiDi's house Heather came to pick up Lexi and Tanae. Adia soon fell asleep for a 3 hour nap and I got a nap too. We had dinner and around 8:30 headed off to Old Town to watch fireworks with Chels and Danny. We haven't seen them since right after Adia's birthday so it was great that they happened to be in the same town for the 4th. Adia couldn't have cared less about the fireworks. She wasn't scared, but she wasn't impressed either. She mostly enjoyed staring at the reflection in the water. She didn't want to get back in her stroller though and put up a fight. She was asleep within minutes though and slept all the way home and didn't really wake up when I transferred her to the bed.
Surprisingly, Adia slept until after 8:30. I was shocked. She never does that, but I guess the girls and fireworks wore her out. She wasn't happy to discover Tanae and Lexi missing. We goofed around all day, hit up Fred Meyer, Adia met the kittens that live next door and we went for a short walk.
On Sunday we went out to breakfast. Adia ate a scrambled egg and did some people watching. We came back and went to the park again. There were a couple other kids there so Adia didn't last long. We did discover that Tanae had taght her a few things tough. Adia's now a much better climber and she figured out the art of sliding. She now knows that you have to sit down, scoot forward and then slide. It was a big development that I'm very excited about.
Before driving home, we learned that Tanae had taught Adia a couple words as well. She now says, "Help me" when she can't do something. That has translated into "Help up" and "Help down". The one thing we wished she hadn't taught Adia though was "shut up". She said that to Scott shortly after we got home. It surprised both of us and Adia got in trouble for it.
When it finally cooled off in the evening, we went for a walk. Adia had to bring her doll, but our walk didn't last long. She didn't want to stay in the stroller, but also wouldn't stay close. We didn't want her getting hit by a bike or falling into the river. She wasn't happy when I plopped her back in the stroller to go home.
