Marvelous March

March has been super busy, as it always is. Adia's birthday part was on the 2nd since we would be gone the next weekend. She wanted an Oregon Ducks football birthday party. I admit, I had a lot of fun with that. I glittered a bunch of "O"s and made a football pinata. Everything was green and yellow. Adia loved it. Her cake was green and yellow tie dyed on the inside even.

The day after her birthday, DiDi, Adia, Daddy and I completed a 5K. Daddy ran (of course) and DiDi, Adia and I walked it. I pushed the twins in the stroller. That was a full body workout. We finished in 1hr 1min. I was so proud of Adia. She walked the whole way and only complained a little bit. She said she'll do the autism 5K and the Rhody Run with me this year as well. And yes, I'll be walking. I. Don't. Run. I predict Adia will be running them with her Daddy in a few years. She's definitely a runner.

DiDi took Adia's birthday off so she could spend it with us. She was there for birthday pancakes.

We took Adia and the twins to lunch at Red Robin. Daddy couldn't come because he got called into work early. Adia was bummed. We hit up Toys R Us after so Adia could spend her birthday coupon. The girls were really upset when DiDi had to go home, but she had to work the next day.

Daddy took off Friday and Saturday. We rode bikes to the park on Friday because it was actually sunny. They ended up muddy messes, but they had fun and successfully rode bikes to and from the park without too much of a complaint.

Saturday was the day Adia and Daddy had been looking forward to for months. We were headed to Portland for Brick Cascade. Legos. Legos. Legos.

We left early in the morning because Daddy wanted to be some of the first people in the door. We got lost getting to Lloyd Center, but found our way back and met up with Gramma and Papa. We decided to ride Max so we didn't have to attempt driving in downtown Portland. It was an excellent idea. I think the train might have been the highlight of the trip for the twins. They keep asking when they get to ride it again.

Bricks Cascade was pretty neat. Some of the Lego creations blew my mind. They were amazing. I'm glad we went. Adia spent quite a bit of her birthday money and the twins bought Lego Friends and mini figures. They were starting to ger cranky and squirelly so we knew it was lunch time. We rode back to the mall for lunch, which Adia and Mira devoured. In typically Leia fashion, she didn't really eat much. Then we jumped back on the train and headed for the Saturday Market. Little did we know that it was the first of the season. The place was mobbed, but Adia bought a hand carved wooden top, which she loves. We also met up with GiGi, Auntie Carol and Scott's Cousin and her kids. The girls were all happy to see each other, but girls were over the market and wanted to go to Powell's books. When you got to Portland, you can't skip Powell's. GiGi and Carol came with us. Mira was all about her GiGi.

The girls were in absolute shock at Powell's. They've never been in a bookstore that big before. They each picked out a bunch of books and Adia spent the rest of her birthday money. I'm pretty sure they never wanted to leave, but they were getting hungry for dinner. We rode back to the van and at Adia's request, we had dinner at Denny's. She's absolutely in love with Denny's right now. Then it was back in the van for the drive home. Adia was determined to get ice cream at the first DQ we saw, which wasn't until long after Mira has passed out cold. Leia was awake because she needed at bathroom so I took Leia and Adia into the DQ. They had their bathroom break, Adia got her chocolate sundae and Leia got a slushie. Leia took 2 sips before she handed it off to Daddy and promptly passed out. Adia finished her sundae, told me she put it in her cup holder and immediately started snoring. It was pretty comical. We got home around 9 and Daddy and I were exhausted too. I think we both passed out immediately after unloading the car. The girls have been keeping busy the rest of the month. Leia's still in undies and rarely has accidents. She usually only has an accident if she's been playing Super Smash Bros and doesn't want to stop to pee. She's actually getting really good at it. She's beat the game a few times and the other day she sent Daddy flying in Super Sudden Death. I can't wait until Unky Eck gets back so she can show him her skills. When they're not playing video games, they're playing dress up.

And Adia just keeps getting bigger and older. A few days ago she asked if she could make her own scrambled eggs. With very little help, she did it. She amazes me every day.

Daddy had Friday off so Papa came up and watched the girls so Daddy and I could go to lunch and movie. The girls played Super Smash Bros with him and he turned cleaning the kitchen into a game. They cleaned the windows and stove. I'm sure they even helped with the dishes.

It's spring break this week. DiDi came up on Saturday. We had a mini date with the girls. Dinner at Denny's (see, the girls are addicted!) and frozen yogurt after. Then DiDi took Adia home with her for a few days. It's been very weird without her here. It's quiet and the energy in the room is completely different. It's been nice just having the twins though. We've played games and made cookies. Monday we went to the park. Adia's been having a blast with DiDi too. She spent time helping DiDi clean up her classroom and they dyed eggs.
