The days are zooming by. The twins are already over 2 weeks old and Adia's starting to act more like herself. She's incredibly protective of her girls and looks for them first thing if she hasn't been with them. She's also been cosleeping with me again. I think she might be afraid that I'll disappear to the hospital again, which I understand. Luckily, she's a deep sleeper so any baby crying during the night doesn't wake her at all.

Both twins had their first real baths this week. Mira screamed through the entire thing. She hated it and was only happy once she was wrapped in a towel. Leia loved the water. The second I set her in it, she was instantly quiet, looking around and acting happy. She cried when I picked her up. Once she was wrapped in a hooded towel, she was happy again. Adia even helped to wash her hair.

Despite my hatred of pacifiers, we started using them with Mira. She constantly wants to suck, but if we keep trying to feed her, she ends up puking. A pacifier seems to be the only thing that helps sometimes. She does get really upset when it falls out.

In order to hold both twins at once, I started putting Leia in the Moby. She absolutely loves it. She's the more tense of the two and cries a lot, but when she gets super fussy, I can put her in the Moby and she immediately falls asleep.

Mira makes the best facial expressions. Most of the time she looks irritated, but then she smiles at Daddy. She's certainly daddy's little girl. We laugh so hard at some of her facial expressions, especially when she raises one eyebrow and looks at you like you're crazy.

DiDi's been helping us as much as she can. Usually she's here in the evening. She'll hold a baby, or two, while I get Adia to sleep. Some nights work better than others and occasionally both babies freak out at the same time. We're lucky and that rarely happens, but it's an interesting juggling act when it does.

We've been spending a lot of time at DiDi's house too. Adia loves all her toys and it's cooler than our place. We tried laying the girls down to eat dinner, but they weren't so happy about it. Mira was fine by herself, but the second I set Leia next to her, she started fussing. Adia did like laying with them, but I ended up having to move Leia over. When I did that, Mira stopped complaining, but Leia started. Leia loves to cuddle, but Mira's not a fan. I think I have the only twins who hate each other and they're not even a month old.

On Wednesday we went to the pool. Adia swam with Daddy, DiDi and Gramma while I sat on the sidelines with the twins. Mira hung out in a boppy while I held a sleeping Leia. Leia can already roll so she usually does better being held onto, tightly. Adia had fun swimming, but came over periodically to kiss her babies. She also decided it was time to leave and tried to head off to the showers on her own. After swimming we ate at Red Robin. It's Adia's favorite place to eat and she's become good friends with the manager. After eating, she always get to play the crane machine.

Before swimming, my aunt and uncle made a visit. They live in Colorado so we don't get to see them very often. Adia acted shy at first, but quickly warmed up to my uncle. She was soon calling him Grandpa and had him reading her books. The twins enjoyed my aunt. Adia did too as a baby. She can always put a baby to sleep.

Adia's been enjoying having PigPig live with her, even though we haven't been holding her very often. Adia did get to hold her while DiDi cleaned her cage.

It's been so hot lately that we've been eating a lot of ice cream. Adia's been loving that. We had DQ the other night and when we went to the mall after the twin's doctor appointment, Adia had more ice cream. She also demanded that I take a picture of her while she sat on the seal.

Today we visited a really good friend. We've been seeing her lots since DiDi moved to Eugene. Adia really likes her too. I think she'll now be asking to go visit her. She has a park near her house with swings and the one thing that occupied her the most, a container of beans! Adia played with those most of the afternoon, pouring them in different containers and pretending to cook. When we left, she asked to go back and play with beans again soon. She also had fun playing their piano. She actually sounded really good and it was so sweet when she started singing too. I think we'll have to get her in piano lessons when she's older. The twins spent the afternoon being held and cuddled. Mira slept almost the entire time, waking up momentarily to down a few ounces. Leia was awake until just before we left. I couldn't believe how long she was awake. Her eyes were wide and she was looking at everything.

The twins had their 2 week check up on Tuesday. Mira is now 6lbs11oz and Leia is 6lbs6oz. I can't believe how fast they're growing. Mira showed the doctor that she can hold her head up, in fact she can do a full push up. I didn't even know she could do that since it's normally Leia holding her head up. Leia demonstrated how she can roll over already. They had to have their blood taken for metabolic tests. Mira screamed for a second when her heel was pricked and quickly fell back asleep. Leia screamed bloody murder through the whole thing. Neither girl is a good bleeder though so it took much longer than normal. At their next appointment, they'll have to have shots. That won't be fun at all.
