We've had a fun and eventful week. They always seem to happen anymore. Last Wednesday we went swimming, like usual. Adia had been talking about it all day. She also spent most of her day in the water too. She wanted Scott to give her a bath in the morning, then she wanted another in the afternoon, just hours before swimming. She's certainly a little fishie. While she was in the tub, I asked her what we were going to be doing that night. She started talking about who would be swimming with her. Sadly, Papa couldn't join us because he was sick.

After dinner, we jumped in the car and headed out. I had made polenta pizza for dinner, which Daddy and I thought was delicious, but Adia wouldn't even try. She went to swimming with nothing, but some milk in her tummy. She was excited to go though. She had to make sure she was wearing her hat and sunglasses though.

Adia was on the go the entire time at the pool. She went really deep in the waves with Daddy and loved it. She went down the slide several times with Daddy and Eck. She pushed Daddy around by his toes in the kiddie pool. When it was time to leave, she didn't want to go. She hadn't napped all day and was up early, so she was getting tired and cranky. For the first time, she put up a fight in the shower. Normally she loves taking showers afterward. We got back in the car and headed to Red Robin. Adia didn't fall asleep in the car, probably because she knew she was going to Red Robin. It's her favorite restaurant. She gobbled down most of her burger and fell asleep against DiDi, still holding an apple slice. She slept through going outside, getting back in the car and being placed in her bed. She was zonked.

I bought some cloth training pants for Adia in hopes she'd change her mind about peeing in her pants. I figured that if she felt really wet, she wouldn't like it and would realized going in the potty was better. So far, I've been wrong. She'll only choose to use the potty if she's naked.

DiDi came up on Friday. I was having a rough day with Adia and I was exhausted. Adia was so happy to see DiDi and PigPig. When it came time for bed, Adia wanted DiDi to read to her at first. When she started to get tired, she switched to me.

In the morning, we decided to put Adia's second car seat in Daddy's car so he could take her places if he needed to. Adia found her 3D glasses that she hasn't seen in a month. She was super excited. She hung out in the front seat, pressing buttons and being crazy, while I installed the seat and DiDi cleaned up all the bird poop on the outside of the car.

We ran a bunch of errands and Adia complained most of the time. She didn't want to ride in the cart anywhere we went, but did enjoy checking out the animals at Petco. She really liked the ferrets and lizards. The evening, Daddy and I went out to dinner and left Adia with DiDi. Adia didn't last long. She fell asleep while they were eating dinner and slept through until morning.

Mother's day turned out to be more eventful than planned. I'd been feeling "off" for a few days and Saturday night I started having some cramping. I thought my tummy was upset and didn't think much of it. I woke up a few times in the night, but in the morning, the crampy feeling wouldn't go away. I was debating calling the doctor's office until I felt a tightening all the way up to the top of my stomach. I knew then and there that something was definitely going on. I called the office and waited for the on call doctor to call me back. He let me know that it definitely did sound like preterm labor and I should head to the hospital to get checked out. We left Adia with DiDi and headed to the hospital.

For being a new hospital, they put us in what looked like a jail cell and made us wait 20 minutes before the nurse ever even came in. I changed into a hospital gown and she put the monitors on my stomach. We were able to easy get both heartbeats, but my contractions weren't showing up on the monitor. No surprise there. They never did with Adia at 29 weeks either and they tried to tell me it was all in my head. They seemed like they were dismissing it again, telling me I was just dehydrated. That always ticks me off. The doctor did the fetal fibronectin test and a cervical exam. And guess what, apparently I DO know what I'm talking about. I was 30% effaced, a fingertip dilated and my cervix was soft. They sent us home, telling me to drink plenty of fluids and to take it easy. The doctor called a bit later to tell me the test results were negative, which is good. It means it's highly unlikely that I'll deliver in the next 2 weeks.

Adia was really excited when the door opened and I was standing there. Gramma has arrived while we were at the hospital. Adia wanted to hold the piggie so we climbed on the couch together. She gave PigPig and mommy lots of cuddles.

Daddy took Gramma to a movie, which it had been the plan that he'd take DiDi and Gramma to see Star Trek while I watched Adia. That wasn't going to happen so DiDi stayed with Adia and me. I took a nap and DiDi had fun with Adia. When their movie was over, DiDi and I went for haircuts and then DiDi had to leave. Adia wasn't happy to see her go, but Gramma offered a trip to Red Robin. That cheered Adia up. Adia ate her entire meal and wanted more. Too bad we didn't have another burger patty for her.

When we got back to the house, Eck was waiting for us. Adia got the silliest grin on her face. Gramma vacuumed the living room so Eck took Adia into her bedroom. Adia's scared of the vacuum cleaner still. I tried to close the door, but Adia said she wanted to watch the vacuum. She cuddled with Eck and watched Bolt. She got super upset when Eck had to leave, but she fell asleep before I'd even finished the second book.

I had a dentist cleaning on Monday. Scott took Adia for a walk to see ducks and geese and I stayed home. He thought we could meet up at the dentist since it's not too far from the house. Adia had fun playing with Daddy and started waving like crazy when she saw me drive past. When I got out of the car, she ran up and gave me the biggest hug.

The dentist appointment didn't go as planned. The dentist didn't want to risk cleaning my teeth without a doctor's note. The hygienist did try to look in Adia's mouth, but Adia wouldn't open up. Adia got a new toothbrush to take to DiDi's house though.

We ran a bunch of errands before coming home. Adia wanted to eat some lunch and take a bath. I was hoping she'd nap, but that never seems to happen anymore. She did enjoy playing with Daddy while I took a nap.

Tuesday was a pretty lazy day. We did go to the store, but then I laid on the couch when we got back. Adia brought me toys to play with and was in a really sweet mood. I've been averaging only 1 or 2 contractions a day with the occasional braxton hick contraction too. Adia seems to know I don't feel so great so she hasn't been as demanding. She went outside to play with Daddy while I made dinner and went to bed by 8 again. I guess that's what happens when you don't nap.

I went to bed pretty early too, but had a horrible time getting comfortable. Adia also woke up earlier than normal. I went in to her room to get her back to sleep, but she wasn't completely awake. I hate when that happens. She just screams and cries and doesn't make any sense. I managed to wake her up enough for her to tell me she wanted a dry diaper. I changed her and she snuggled up and went right back to sleep. She woke me up several times before the sun came up, but I convinced her to go back to sleep until 8am.

I have a doctor's appointment today. Daddy has to sleep if he wants to go swimming with us tonight so we called Eck to watch Adia while I'm at the doctor. Adia's happy to have him here.
