We had another great weekend. All week, Adia was asking to go to DiDi's house because she knew DiDi was setting up a play kitchen. I kept telling her that she'd be there soon enough and that she'd be spending the weekend. Adia wanted to leave Friday and was very upset that we couldn't leave until Saturday. She was super excited in the car, singing, "Going to DiDi's house!" She fell asleep just before the tunnel and Daddy was out cold too. When I got to DiDi's house, this is what I saw.

When we got to DiDi's house, DiDi wasn't there, but Gramma was waiting for us. She had an anniversary card to give us and didn't want to miss us before she visited Colie and we headed to Yachats. Adia was confused at first, but as soon as she saw the play kitchen, she wouldn't leave it. We had a hard time convincing Adia no to actually eat the play food, but by the end of the weekend, she understood it was fake. We ate some lunch and watched a movie before Daddy and I left. Adia was completely fine with us leaving.

DiDi said Adia only asked for Mommy a couple times. They went to dinner with Papa and Eck and then got in some play time. Adia asked for me after they left, but DiDi sidetracked her with picking a movie to watch in bed. She fell asleep with no problems and slept all night. She wanted to know where I was in the morning, but DiDi let her know I'd be coming back later that day. That put Adia's mind at ease and there were no tears.

When we did get back and Adia opened the door, her whole face lit up. She grabbed me and wouldn't let go. She wrapped her arms around my neck and covered me in kisses, the whole time saying, "I miss you mommy" and "I loves you." It was so sweet. I admit, I missed her horribly too. I don't know how I'm going to survive the hospital without her.

We went out to Gramma and Papa's house. Adia wanted to play with Papa and Eck. They chased her around the house, drew with chalk and then Adia asked to play in the pond. She likes to throw the pea gravel in the pond. Luckily, there's nobody living in it. After telling her for the millionth time that she needs to sit back from the water and no put her hands in it, she got banished from the pond.

She had a tantrum, but relaxed after sitting on the swing. She sat with Eck at first, but then wanted Papa to sit with her. That would have worked, but she wanted all of them on the swing at once.

We were all going to go to dinner, but Gramma wasn't home yet so Daddy and I planned to take DiDi and Adia. Adia had a meltdown at the restaurant so DiDi just took her home, leaving Daddy and me. We went back to DiDi's house after dinner and Adia was gobbling down steak. She loves steak. She also had Papa, who was going to join us at the casino while we waited for Gramma. Adia didn't want Papa to leave her, but DiDi sidetracked her with a bath. When we got back from the casino, Adia was fast asleep with DiDi. She ended up waking up in the middle of the night and only wanting me. I slept with her on the floor until her early morning wake up when she ran down the hall to find DiDi.

DiDi, Daddy, Adia and I went to breakfast. Adia was hyper, but actually ate her food. Then we went to Freddie's so Daddy could spend some of his winnings. I think Adia played with every toy on the toy aisle before having a meltdown. She obviously needed a nap.

We went back to DiDi's and tried to convince Adia to nap. I wasn't having any luck and I was falling asleep myself, so I took a nap. When I woke up, Adia was asleep on Daddy's legs on the couch. She looked so sweet and peaceful. Meanwhile, it was really storming outside. Papa called to let us know that they had lost power, but could still BBQ chicken. It was getting late so I started kissing Adia. That's always the best way to wake her up. She slowly woke up, a little grumpy at first, until I told her she had been sleeping on Daddy. She got the silliest grin on her face.

When we got to Gramma and Papa's house, Adia was set to play. She wore Eck out with all the chasing and didn't mind that there were no lights on. We had a good dinner, but Adia refused to eat. She did eat dessert though and didn't make too big of a mess.

She wanted a Papa bath, but that just wasn't possible with no power. She ended up getting sidetracked helping Papa roast marshmallows for s'mores and then climbing into Gramma's lap for books.

Adia let us know when it was time to leave. She was getting tired and had DiDi put her pjs on. I still had to drive us back to Eugene, but at least the weather had gotten a bit better. We took DiDi home and headed out. Adia and Daddy quickly fell asleep. Daddy took Adia to bed, where she kind of woke up. I snuggled with her for a few minutes before she went back to sleep. I dropped into bed not long after.

Yesterday marked a big day for Adia. We were in the grocery store parking lot and Adia refused to sit correctly in her seat. I was tired of arguing with her so I told her we'd flip her seat around. It took me 30 minutes, with her bouncing around the back seat, to install it forward facing. During that time Adia pooped the nastiest smelling diaper. Not great in a confined space. I changed her and then she looked at her seat. She told me to fix it back. Nope, not happening. I strapped her in and we drove home. I think she liked the new view, but she was confused by the opposite turns we appeared to be making. When we got home and Adia went to climb out of her seat, she more like fell out. That is certainly going to take some adjusting to, but it's definitely easier to get her in and out of her seat.
