An OK Night

Adia woke up about 5 minutes after I posted last night. She was overheating in her sleeper. I totally understand why. It was so hot here last night. I changed her into a cooler sleeper and fed her another 2oz and she was out. She slept until 5:45am, at which point I made her another bottle and brought her into bed with me. I had to fight with her to eat. I have no idea why, but I finally won out. She then fell asleep and we woke up around 8.

It was then jumperoo time. She bounced for quite awhile and I was just waiting for her usual blow out. It seems that everytime she poops while in the jumper, it shoots right out the side and all over her sleeper. When I finally took her out of it, I was certainly checking for the tell tale sign, but nope. I changed her out of her pjs and into a onesie and bib. She was being silly, grabbing her feet and smiling. I had planned on walking after changing her, but she had other plans. She suddenly decided she was starving and had to eat THEN. She ended up falling asleep in my lap. I never did get my walk today.

When she woke up, I took a shower and then ate breakfast. She sat in her high chair and watched me. She didn't have any oatmeal because she didn't seem very interested in food. Afterwards it was time to head to Florence. She babbled for the first 10 minutes and that soon turned to screaming/crying. I was hoping she hadn't had a blow out because she still hadn't gone for the day and she ALWAYS goes in the morning. Within the next 10 minutes all was quiet and she was sleeping. I guess she always has to complain about sleeping before it happens. She slept all the way and only woke up when I opened the car door. At least she woke up with a big smile.

Adia was still sleepy when she saw my mom. She started acting bashful. My mom got to show her off to the other teachers and Adia was looking at them all suspiciously. At least she wasn't crying about it. After spending some time with my mom, we drove up to the high school to visit her other grandma. She was very surprised to see us and also got to show off Adia to the teachers. Adia was still acting suspicious of everyone. Then it was time to leave Adia with her Unky Eck.

Adia was really happy to see him. He quickly chnaged her diaper and got a bottle ready when we arrived. When I got back to my mom's school, he texted me to let me know that they were watching cartoons together. Ahh.. my little couch potato. Later he called because he couldn't get her to stop crying. He wanted to know if it was ok to feed her more. Umm.. of course. So he did and a few minutes later I got another text message, "Big Poopy". I guess she was saving it for her Unky. At least he doesn't seem to mind changing diapers.

When I came back, Adia was lounging on Eric. They were watching cartoons together. I took her back and she was all smiles. She kept rubbing her face against me. I then put her in her activity center. She so desperately wanted to stand. She started playing with all the toys. There's a little teeter totter on the activity center with a lion on one side and an elephant on the other. She was trying to get it to work, but was getting frustrated. I told her she needed to press on the lion, but she pressed on the elephant. I told her no, that's the elephant, you need to press the lion. And what did she do, she pressed the lion. Then I told her to press the elephant. She looked at me and pressed the elephant. She looked pleased with herself. I really wonder how much she understands. It's kinda creepy sometimes.

A little while later her grandpa came home from work. I honestly think her grandpa is her favorite person. She got the biggest grin on her face to see him. He played with her briefly, but he had to make dinner. During dinner she tasted some sweet potatoes. She gave a priceless expression. It was like she was saying, "what the hell did you just put in my mouth lady?" Of course she wanted more though. After a few bites she was over it though. After dinner she got to play with grandpa some more. He had her sitting and then jumping on the table. Eventually she went after his beard. She was in heaven.

Since it was getting late, it was time to go back to my mom's. She had to have her nightly bath. She was laying in the water with her head on my legs and having a blast. I've never seen her kick so much. She was splashing everywhere and smiling huge. She kept moving like a fish. Everything was great until her head slipped off my legs and she went under. I grabbed her immediately, but she was choking and gasping. I felt so bad for her. She looked stunned. Her sputtering quickly turned into protesting babbling. It sounded like she was getting mad at me and I swear she said, "Daddy wouldn't do that." When my mom had her on the counter, drying her off, she started saying, "mamamama". Luckily she didn't hold it against me. We snuggled tight while I fed her and she's been out since 9:45. I hope she sleeps well tonight.
