Soo... 2 years. The twins were preschoolers and 4 years old. Adia was only a 1st grader and had just turned 7. They're so much bigger and noisier and usually fun, but I've also learned that 6-7 year olds are NOT my favorite. I'm sure it's just a preview of the teenage years, but ugh. So. Many. Time. Outs.
We just started the soccer season. Adia plays on a U10 team. It's her second season and she loves it. She hurt her knee the night before the season started though and she's still favoring it. I predict a doctor's appointment in our near future. It's hard to tell if it's really hurt or she's milking it for all it's worth. It's horrible to say, but true.
This is the twins' 3rd season playing soccer. Adia watched them last spring and decided soccer might be interesting. Now she's addicted. She even likes to watch it on tv and we went to an Oregon Ducks game last fall. The twins are playing U8! They're the smallest on their team, but they're pretty fearless too. I don't know if that's necessarily a good thing, but at least they enjoy it.I'll be spending the next 6-8 weeks being a crazy soccer mom. Practices M-Th and games every Saturday. We won't talk about the stinky soccer gear. Best way to clean shin guards anyone? Blech.
Adia's been busy in 3rd grade. I can't believe the school year is almost over. Isn't it still September? It's been flying by. She loves her teacher, but her class gives her a headache. Lots of very noisy kids. Luckily her teacher understands and lets her read and work in the hallway when it gets particularly loud. The twins adore their teachers and are having an awesome year. Leia's reading chapter books and wants to be a librarian when she grows up! Mira's showing a talent for math. She's been learning multiplication facts from Adia. She's reading too and getting better every day, but doesn't seem to enjoy it quite so much as her sisters.
We're up to 2 cats and 2 dogs. We've had Lola for almost a year now. She's my little goofy chiweenie. She's the ultimate destructo-pup, but I love her so frickin' much. She requires daily walks or she gets bored and eats the couch, shoes, benches, anything really. She's so full of love and adores the girls. Her whole body wiggles when she's happy, especially when the girls come home from school. Her daily routine starts with a potty break outside, quickly followed by waking up Adia. She runs into her room, jumps on her bed and covers her face in kisses. It's the funniest thing ever. Cheeto still grumbles at Lola, but I think he'd miss her if she suddenly disappeared. I know she was unhappy when he spent the day at the vet getting his teeth cleaned. She likes the cats too. Naia's her buddy. I often catch them curled up together. When Naia went missing last week, Lola wouldn't rest until she was found. Lola's relationship with Tiger is a little more strained. She likes to chase him, he likes to fight back. Luckily there's been no bloodshed yet.
Since our hard drive died and I hadn't backed up all my pictures in 3 months, I lost most of them. I've been able to salvage some from facebook, walgreens and shutterfly, but sadly, it's not all of them. It makes me sad, but paying $750 to recover them, just didn't make sense. That was more than a new desktop! So I'll have to make due with what I have.
I hope to write more soon. Maybe when the new computer comes.
