May also brought Rhody Days. Daddy was able to get the weekend off and surprise his parents by coming with us. Adia survived another 5K. This one was harder than the last with more hills and rain. She wore out pretty quick and ended up walking most of it with DiDi. I finished 4 minutes ahead of her, but she finished strong with tons of people cheering her on. It's not every day you see a small 6 year old finish a 5K.

After the Rhody Run, it was carnival time. Adia was not happy about having to park and walk, but there was no where close to the carnival to park. It was still pretty cold, wet and windy. We didn't spent too much time, but the girls got to each ride a few rides, play a game to win a prize and eat more junk than humanly possible. They had cotton candy, snow cones, curly fries and elephant ears.

I think the highlight was meeting Queen Jade. She's the Rhody Queen this year and we've known her since she was a preschooler. The girls thought she was awesome, especially the twins.

On Sunday we went to the parade, but I didn't take any pictures. The girls were so easy this year. They just sat on the curb, waving at everyone and eating the candy that was thrown to them. They were perfectly happy. I love how it does get easier each year. Mira's had two appointments in the last 10 days. Last Monday she had an appointment with her regular pediatrician because she's had an odd, foul odor. Her breath smelled like really sour milk. It was awful and tough to even be near her it was so bad. The second her doctor smelled her, she suspected there was something up her nose. I'd never noticed her put anything up her nose, but after checking her tonsils and ears, there was no other reason for the smell. She had Mira lay down and looked up her nose. "Mira, there's a big boogie up your nose and I'm going to try to get it, ok?" She grabbed a cotton swab and bingo, hello giant (dime sized), green, putrid smelling booger. I think we all gagged it was so bad. Apparently Mira had tissue stuck in her nose. Her nose soon started bleeding after the tissue was removed because it had adhered to the nasal tissue. Her doctor explained that nothing should ever go up her nose, even a tissue. She said that was a first for her. She's removed lots of things out of children's noses, but never something as simple as a tissue, nor quite that fragrant. Now she's back to smelling like her sweet self and I've never been so relieved.
Yesterday, Mira went back to the dentist to get a tiny cavity filled. It took less than 15min, no Novocaine and lots of giggling on Mira's part. She especially liked it when they drilled. She said it tickled. Her dentist also put sealants on her bottom molars. He said since they had some pretty deep grooves, he was already working on her and she was such a good sport that he wanted to prevent any more cavities. I had sealants on my teeth too so I figured at least one of my kids would need it too. I'm so relieved it was a positive experience for her. I know my first filling was not and I was a lot older than Mira.
It's full on raining again. The big positive for that is I don't have to water the garden. After school today we made cookies and then went for a puddle jumping walk. Adia jumped so much that she had to dump the water out of her boots twice. Mira had mud all the way up to her forehead!

And think of us tomorrow. Adia has her jog-a-ton.. in the rain and I already committed to helping.
