Little Sickies

We're going on week 2 of being sick and I think it's finally caught up with Daddy and me. We spent 2.5 hours with Leia in Urgent Care with no answers. Not an ear or sinus infection. She doesn't have an UTI. They eventually decided to run a bunch of blood tests. Those all came back normal as well. Luckily, by the next day, she was obviously feeling much better. I did make a follow up appointment with her pediatrician and an appointment for Mira too. Mira had a horrible cough and was having problems breathing. Her lungs are apparently fine though. She still sounds horrible, almost a week later, and Adia's joined in on the fun.

We did manage to go to Portland on Saturday after we dropped DiDi off at the airport. Adia couldn't wait to go to her cousin's birthday party. Driving up went smoothly. Mira slept most of the way and Leia was chill. Adia wouldn't stop asking if we were there yet. That drives me insane. They had a blast at the party. They gorged themselves on berries and each hit the pinata. They had fun running around with the other kids and Mira was thrilled to have her own bubbles. She actually got a hang of blowing them herself too. Leia didn't understand that you had to hold the wand away from her mouth. She just kept trying to put it to her lips.

The way home was not so much fun. We ate at The Spaghetti Factory and then started the drive back. Just out of Salem, Adia started coughing like crazy. When Adia starts coughing like that, it only means one thing, she's going to puke. And she did. And it just kept coming. She was a mess, her seat was a mess, her brand new scarf was a mess. Daddy doesn't do puke either so I had to clean everything up while he did his best to not puke himself. He wasn't completely successful either. I'm glad I always bring extra plastic bags, clothes and lots of antibacterial wipes. I don't think her carseat will ever be the same again though. Ever since Saturday night, we've been getting very little sleep. Adia's been up most of the night cough, hacking and puking. I'm losing my mind from lack of sleep and the coughing. I did get the beads out for the girls to attempt today. I had to fix Adia's favorite necklace (it broke in the car on the way to Portland) and so I had to make the twins necklaces too. I have since discovered that Leia is like DiDi and she doesn't like wearing necklaces. She thinks they're all too tight. The girls were really good with the beads. Adia made 2 necklaces. One of them is for me and it says MOM. I think it weighs like 5lbs though so I won't be able to wear it for very long. Mira and Leia also made necklaces, but thought they were supposed to put the beads away. Oh well. It was an activity that kept Leia's attention for a prolonged period of the time. That's incredibly rare.

I also bribed the girls to get a good picture of the three of them together. Leia refused to be tricked, but Daddy finally convinced her.

Then we headed to the mall. The girls were going stir crazy and it was too cold and wet to head to the park. They didn't play long since the place was mobbed. We tried out Subway and their new gluten free sandwiches. Adia ate half of hers and so did Leia, but Mira wasn't interested. It's very rare to not have Mira eat so she must be feeling icky. We did get frozen yogurt afterward and Mira didn't eat all of hers either.

And a quick ride because Mommy just happened to have enough quarters.

Adia also spent her birthday gift certificate to Barnes and Noble. She's now the very proud owner of a Berenstain Bears Easter flap book and a pink sock monkey. Leia had an absolute melt down inside the bookstore. Daddy had to take her out to the car while Mira, Adia and I paid for the books. She hasn't had a freak out like that in a very very long time.
